The American Heart Association's Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine aims to advance the science and practice of personalized medicine to improve cardiovascular health of individuals and populations. With new partnerships bringing additional expertise, we are building on the science of precision medicine through collaborative relationships. To further the AHA's mission and Institute's goals, we offer grant opportunities to scientists of all fields.

Data Grant Portfolio
Aimed at uncovering patterns and knowledge from existing datasets that will inform standards and ontology for current and future cardiovascular disease-based data, utilizing a cloud infrastructure supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Data Grant types include Data Mining, Innovative Development, Methods Validation, and Data Fellowships.

These programs are open to international applicants.

Data Grant Portfolio: Methods Validation Grants To identify methods to improve the usability and integration of data and analyses from large and diverse datasets.

* $200,000 over 2 years

* Application Deadline: June 29, 2017

* Plus Amazon Web Services (AWS) credit up to $150,000/yr for computational storage and analysis

* Start Date: September 1, 2017

Data Grant Portfolio: Institutional Data Fellowship Program To educate and train the next generation of researchers in cloud computing to strengthen and support underlying scientific discoveries from large datasets. The Fellowships will focus on training computational biologists, mathematicians, and social engineers alongside cardiovascular disease content experts (Cohort Fellowship), and training clinical fellows within computational biology programs. Clinical fellows would train in computational biology (Computational Fellowship).
