American Heart Association AHA Programs for Summer 2017

The American Heart Association is accepting applications for Summer Cycle programs, as listed below. Applicants must complete their applications within the AHA Grants@Heart system and, once finished, click on the Submit to Grants Officer option; this will release the application to the UI Division of Sponsored Programs DSP for review and submission to AHA.

 

In order for DSP to do its part, applicants must be sure to:  a) Select Daniel Reed as Grant Officer where prompted within the application form; and b) Complete the UI Routing Form/process to secure departmental and collegiate approvals at least five business days before the AHA submission deadline.

Supports mid-career investigators with unusual promise and an established record of accomplishments; candidates have a demonstrated commitment to cardiovascular or cerebrovascular science as indicated by prior publication history and scientific accomplishments. A candidate's career is expected to be in a rapid growth phase.
Career Stage: Intermediate level or recognized investigator – associate professor or equivalent, professor or equivalent. Applicants are expected to be independent investigators.
The Required Letter of Intent LOI must be submitted to your institution’s Grants Officer

Institutional Undergraduate Student Award

This institutional award is made to qualified research institutions that can offer meaningful research experiences that supports the mission of the American Heart Association to undergraduate college students. The program director is the applicant for this award.

AHA Merit Award

Funds highly promising investigators with stellar track records of accomplishment, demonstrated by federal or equivalent funding [NIH, AHRQ, HRSA, etc.] from multiple sources and excellent publication records with accelerating impact, who have the potential to move a field of science forward with creative approaches that are aligned with the mission of the American Heart Association.
