- The Idea Development Award (IDA) is intended to support the initial development of an innovative research project with the potential to make an important contribution to the CF Foundation’s mission. Work completed through an IDA should lead to sufficient project development to enable the PI to prepare an application for future research funding through a CF Foundation or National Institutes of Health funding opportunity (or equivalent). The IDA may be designed to support activities required to design and strategize for a research project or to develop a full application for a large, multi-center clinical research study, including, but not limited to, meeting/workshop support, establishment of the research team, development of study design, finalization of protocol, and collection of feasibility assessments and/or feedback obtained through surveys or focus groups with people with CF, their families, or others in the research community.
