Polyplexus is an online platform being developed under the DARPA Gamifying the Search for Strategic Surprise (GS3) program. This BAA, Polyplexus Pilot 2, will pilot test the Polyplexus platform. The goal of the Polyplexus platform is to fundamentally reshape the research and development (R&D) process by significantly reducing the time between concept emergence and worthy proposal submission. The Polyplexus platform aims to achieve this goal via efficiency gains that arise from collaborative activities focused on rigorous evidence collection and hypothesis generation, both of which are facilitated by online conversation.
Polyplexus is not a social media platform. Ultimately, the purposes of the Polyplexus platform will be to build on a continuous expert conversation about the present and future states of science, to generate groundbreaking ideas that have been scrutinized by experts, develop a comprehensive proposal to capitalize on these ideas, and match proposals to research sponsors for possible funding. Polyplexus platform participants will be utilizing an alpha version of the platform to gain valuable experience with users, and to test the conversation and proposal development process. Since this is an alpha version of this online platform, participants should anticipate finding bugs.
