Applications are due 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on November 10, 2021.

The SCGSR program supports awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE national laboratory or host site in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist — with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission. SCGSR is open to current Ph.D. students in qualified graduate programs at accredited U.S. academic institutions, who are conducting their graduate thesis research in targeted areas of importance to the DOE Office of Science.

The priority research areas for SCGSR 2021 Solicitation 2 consist of both convergence research topics of interest to multiple Office of Science (SC) program offices and those primarily from one SC program office. The SC program offices include: Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR), Basic Energy Sciences (BES), Biological and Environmental Research (BER), Fusion Energy Sciences (FES), High Energy Physics (HEP), Nuclear Physics (NP), Isotope R&D and Production (DOE IP), and Accelerator R&D and Production (ARDAP).  Information about a specific program office can be found at the Office of Science website  https://science.osti.gov/Programs .
