The Consulate seeks project proposals in the following Priority Program Areas:

  • · CITIZEN SECURITY Programs that address issues of combating and dismantling transnational criminal networks, law enforcement and civil society cooperation to fight crime and corruption, and exchanges that promote security cooperation and U.S. citizen security.
  • · ECONOMIC GROWTH Programs related to bilateral trade, investment, economic integration, entrepreneurship, innovation, intellectual property rights, and women’s and girls’ empowerment, including underrepresented demographics, such as women and girls, Afro-Brazilians, and indigenous populations.
  • · ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING AND GLOBAL EDUCATION Programs that promote training for teachers of English or enhance English learning among specific audiences or build linkages between American and Brazilian higher education and research institutions, academics, and students.
  • · DEMOCRATIC VALUES Programs that strengthen civil society and promote human rights, diversity, inclusion, rule of law, freedom of the press, and other democratic values.
  • · INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP Programs that aim to build capacity in both areas, and focus on inclusion of underrepresented demographics, such as women, and Afro-Brazilians.
  • · U.S. – BRAZIL SHARED HISTORY AND CULTURE Programs that explore or explain to Brazilian audiences U.S. history and culture, increase understanding of Brazil and the U.S shared history and culture, and build institutional linkages fomenting shared history and culture.
