Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization/institution. If more than one proposal is submitted from an organization, all proposals from that institution will be considered ineligible for funding.

The Office of the Public Affairs Advisor manages the U.S. Mission to NATO’s grants program, which is designed to assist non-government organizations and think-tanks that focus on international affairs, defense and security issues, and U.S. and European relations to create programs that encourage public discussions and creative public engagements in Europe that advance U.S. policies regarding NATO.
Program Objectives:  US NATO PAA invites proposals for programs and initiatives on the following priority program areas:

  • Defense budgets and equitable burden sharing.
  • Modernizing defense capabilities.
  • Countering disinformation and misinformation.
  • Nuclear deterrence.
  • Arms control.
  • Clean networks.
  • Cyber security.
  • NATO and the Middle East.
  • NATO and Russia.
  • Energy security.
  • Counterterrorism.
  • Women, Peace, and Security.
  • Space security.
  • NATO 2030.
  • Open Door.
