Stewardship Science Academic Alliances Program Center of Excellence for Property of Materials Under Extreme Conditions The DOE/NNSA Office of Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation announces their interest in receiving applications for new cooperative agreement financial assistance awards for Centers of Excellence for research in the Stewardship Science Academic Alliances (SSAA) Program. The research area of interest for this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is: properties of materials under extreme conditions. Only applications for cooperative agreements will be accepted for this solicitation, no grant applications will be considered. The DOE/NNSA will consider applications for university-led research which can address the fundamental area of physical science outlined below. Applications should have an appropriate balance between advancing theory and understanding, simulation, and experimental efforts, and be of relevance to the NNSA Defense Program’s stockpile stewardship mission. Applications that advance theory and physical modeling should have a strong, demonstrable connection to experimental efforts. All proposed work to be funded through this SSAA Program announcement is to be UNCLASSIFIED. No applications for CLASSIFIED work will be accepted.
