Required Pre-applications due April 13, 2021

The Accelerator Stewardship program’s mission is to support both fundamental accelerator science and use-inspired technology development of relevance to many fields and to disseminate accelerator knowledge and training to the broad community of accelerator users and providers. Further information about the Accelerator Stewardship program may be found at https://science.osti.gov/hep/research/accelerator-stewardship/.

There are four topic areas active in Track 1 of this FOA:
a) Particle Therapy Beam Delivery Improvements
b) Ultrafast Laser Technology Program
c) High Power Electron Accelerator Technology for Industrial Applications
d) Compact Accelerator Technologies for Security and Medicine

Please note that this FOA is only for opportunities within the Accelerator R&D Stewardship mission, which is to support cross-cutting advances in accelerator science and technology that could benefit researchers in multiple Office of Science (SC) programs and have applications beyond physical science research. The SC programs in Basic Energy Sciences (BES), Fusion Energy Sciences ( FES), High Energy Physics (HEP), and Nuclear Physics (NP) routinely issue separate FOAs for programmatic accelerator research and development that is aimed at facilities for their respective fields of study.
