Through the National Center for Education Research (NCER), the Institute of Education Sciences provides support for programs of research in areas of demonstrated national need.

The Institute of Education Sciences - NCER is announcing two competitions—one competition in research networks and one competition in transformative research.
Research Networks Focused on Critical Problems of Education Policy and Practice.

Under this competition, NCER will consider only applications that address one of the following topics:
•Adult Skills Network, which includes:  Network Lead.  Research Teams.
•Digital Learning Platforms Network, which includes:  Network Lead. Platform Development Teams.

Transformative Research in the Education Sciences.
