The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP) announces the availability of funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 under the authority of sections 1702 and 1703 of the Public Health Service Act, (42 U.S.C. 300u-1 and 300u-2). OIDP oversees the National Vaccine Program that provides strategic leadership and coordination of vaccine and immunization activities among federal agencies and other stakeholders with the goal to help reduce the burden of preventable infectious disease. OIDP has maintained that vaccine confidence is critical to improving vaccination coverage rates and has prioritized its work on strengthening public trust in vaccines. This project aligns with the priority of the OASH to respond to and prevent the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and other vaccine-preventable diseases, and strategic goals of the HHS including “Goal 2: Protect the health of Americans Where they Live, Learn, Work, and Play” and “Goal 3: Strengthen the Economic and Social Well-being of Americans Across the Lifespan”.
