This program will connect U.S. experts with Indian audiences and institutions by sending American experts to India to interact with audiences through lectures, workshops, seminars and media engagements.  The proposed program will promote understanding of U.S. strategic priorities, policies and institutions and build linkages between U.S. and Indian experts and institutions across India.

North India Workshops on Media Challenges in the Digital Age is a program for students, between the ages 20-35, pursuing a post-graduate diploma/degree course in journalism/mass communication and civil society representatives.  This project will equip a minimum of 75 participants with tools to validate news sources and thereby create a credible counter to disinformation via three two-day workshops in New Delhi; Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; and Jaipur, Rajasthan. The grantee may partner with a local organization or academic institution to conduct these workshops.

The competition will be held among universities in Rajasthan in collaboration with U.S. universities.  Teams will develop technological solutions to augment the US-India Smart City partnership in the city of Ajmer.  Student teams will work on core infrastructure elements in Ajmer: water supply, electricity - solar, public transportation, IT connectivity and digitalization, governance, health, education, Safety and security of citizens - especially women and girls, Sustainable development.

The grantee would be responsible for identifying a prominent U.S. dance troupe of up to five members, coordinating the travel to Mumbai and a second city, organizing their performance at a major arts or cultural festival such as the Goa Arts & Literature Festival or the Kala Ghoda Festival in Mumbai, and arranging for two to three other interactions per program day.
