The University of Iowa Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) seeks proposals for one-year OVPR diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) supplements to existing externally funded awards. The team (a faculty/staff Principal Investigator [PI] and graduate student) will be awarded up to $25k to advance the external award’s science while attracting, retaining, and advancing a UI student who supports diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in research, with a preference for students from traditionally marginalized groups. The goals are for the PI to advance their science through a student-driven mentored research and training experience that prepares the student to excel as a next generation researcher and scholar. In FY23, it is anticipated that there will up to six OVPR DEI supplements funded through the Seeding Excellence Initiative (SEI).
