While funding is not restricted to dissertation or thesis projects, successful proposals reflect a carefully crafted and feasible research or creative endeavor plan. Students applying for projects related to degree completion will receive priority and first semester graduate students are not eligible to receive the awards. Some activities that do not qualify for this funding are paper/poster presentations (see GSS/Graduate College Presentation Travel Funds instead), research or degree related travel, internship travels, job interviews, computers, etc.

NOTE:  Students must submit their part of the application materials to their department at least two weeks prior to the submission deadline (January 25, 2021). Check with your department as soon as possible for their internal deadline as well as inform them that you intended to apply. The next grant deadline is February 9, 2021 at 5 p.m. (for Spring 2021 expenses).
