UIowa Prevention Research Center for Rural Health Pilot Research Program.
The 2020  pilot project request for proposals  for the UI Prevention Research Center for Rural Health PRC-RH are now available on the PRC-RH website https://prc.public-health.uiowa.edu/pilot-projects/
The primary objectives of the pilot project program are to encourage the development of new research projects that advance one or more of the main thematic foci of the PRC-RH:

  • ·         Rural and/or micropolitan health disparities
  • ·         Advancing understanding of the relationships between social and structural determinants & health outcomes in rural and/or micropolitan areas
  • ·         Developing and testing interventions for, or adaptation of evidence-based interventions (EBIs) to rural and/or micropolitan populations

We are particularly interested in pilot research projects focusing on Iowa communities and that partner with community organizations or community members in the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of the project.

The project is open to UNI, ISU and UI faculty, staff and postdoctoral fellows. There will be one award this year with maximum budget of $20,000 (direct). Please note the funding cycle is slightly different this year with the time period being from June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021. Applications are due March 31, 2020.

Please contact Heidi Haines heidi-haines@uiowa.edu  if you have any questions and/or would like to apply.
